Do we need Vitamin
supplements?

whatever their color, size, shape, sex or age, need vitamins. But you
are probably wandering, from what source?

health is to eat an
abundant amount of fresh vegetables and fruits, whole
grains, and unprocessed foods, including legumes,
in your food selection? Choose fresh over frozen, frozen over canned,
and eliminate all junk foods!
Many experts in the nutrition field feel that with
a variety of natural you should not need vitamin supplements. If all
your food was grown on one small plot of land, there might be some
concern for trace elements. But since our food is grown all over the
country, most experts feel ther is no need for concern, due to the
variety of soils and foods.
One orange supplies the recommended minimum daily
allowance of Vitamin
C, and one carrot the RDA of Vitamin A. It hardly seems necessary to
supplient artificially when the needed amounts are so easy to obtain.
Self-prescription
of supplements can be risky; it is not wise to take supplements just
to be sure. It has been predicted that in the next ten years a whole
new series of problems may arise from self-prescribed megavitamins. The
ingestion of one vitamin may affect the body's need for another, so why
take chances with supplements?
